Choosing the right energy source is an important decision from both a cost and comfort perspective.
Propane is a three carbon hydrocarbon that is a by product of oil and natural gas refinement. It is a gas at room temperature, however; it is packaged, transported, and stored as a compressed liquid. When it is in this form it is commonly called Liquified Petroleum (LP). It is a highly combustible compound with a very high energy yield (91,500 btus/gallon). It is commonly used in residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural settings. Additionally, many vehicles can run on propane.
